Commanding Officer's Biography
LIEUTENANT-COLONEL C.A. ROBINSON, C
Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson was born in Pointe-Claire, Qc, on August 2, 1971. He received his officer ’s commission on November 17, 1989, with the Royal Montreal Regiment.
He has been assigned several command positions within this regiment since his enrolment. He was recruit platoon commander, rifle platoon commander and rifle company commander before serving as the Regiment’s operations officer from 1996 to 1998. He then commanded the Regiment rifle company again from 1998 to 2001, and was promoted to major on November 2, 1999. He then took part in a NATO (SFOR) mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2001-2002 with the 3 Royal 22e Régiment Battle Group. Upon returning to the RMR, he was assigned the position of unit Deputy Commanding Officer, which he held until May 2005.
While serving as Deputy Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson also worked full time as Chief Instructor for the Psychological Operations Cell, a new Army capability, in 2004-2005. On May 7, 2005, he was promoted to his current rank and assumed command of the Royal Montreal Regiment.
Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson has a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in history and a marketing certificate from Queen’s University. In addition to all his infantry qualifications, he has taken a number of courses on psychological operations and civil-military cooperation. In his civilian life, he is currently the Director of Sales and Marketing for Executive Promotions Inc, in Montreal.
Lieutenant-Colonel Robinson is married to Kendall Hutson. They have a son named Jack.
