Kit List

These kit lists represent the minimum you should have with you on exercise. Use your judgement, but remember "better have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."

Summer Kit List

-1- Marching Order (Rucksack)
 in the valise:
 - sleeping bag inner, liner
 - ground sheet, air matress
 - ranger blanket
 - insect bar, head net (as req’d)
 - wash basin (as req’d)
 - shaving kit (complete)
- hand towel, khaki (1)
in the main compartment:
 - cbt pants (1)
 - cbt shirt (1)
- cbt jacket (if not worn)
 - socks system (4 pairs ea), Goretex (1)
 - underwear (2)
- T-shirt - green (2)
- spare mesh insoles
- sewing kit (inner pouch)
- spare boot laces (1 set, inner pouch)
- melmac plate, cup, and second canteen

in the top compartment:
 - sash cord & snap link (as req’d)
- 6 - 8 x bungee cords
- individual camo screen (net)

in the side pouches- 24 hours rations – 1 IMP per pouch

- 2 -Full Fighting Order
Tactical vest (TV):

 - canteen, full, fresh water (right side)
 - water purification tablets (as available)
 - KFS (right side)
 - whistle (Sect/Pl Comd)
 - mini maglight (flashlight), with filters
 - bayonet (front of vest)
utility pouch (C-9 pouch, left side) includes: cbt gloves, camstick, insect repellant, personal wpns cleaning kit, sunscreen, matches w/case, ear plugs, tie wraps (fast cuffs)
- field dressing (stored in front left pouch)
- extra C-9 pouch (as required only)
 - C4 NBCW carrier, mask (as req’d)
(worn on left side attached to TV)

patrol pack, includes:
  -bushcap, socks (1 pr), footpowder, sandbag, raingear, fueltabs , extra ration
- helmet (cam cover, band, cats eyes)
 - personal weapon EIS

special equipment:
 - compass (Sect/Pl comd)
 - binoculars (Sect/Pl comd, as req’d)
 - FMP & pencil (comd positions)
 - maps (comd positions)
- 50 ft para cord (all troops)
- Sec/Pl comd Aide-memoire
- glowsticks

- 3 - Equipment & Clothing Worn
 - beret or bushcap (as ordered)
 - cbt shirt
 - cbt pants
- cbt jacket (as req’d)
- cbt boots
 - T-shirt, green
 - ID discs
 - ID card, Medicare card, 404’s (carried on person)
- watch
- pen/note pad (FMP)
- Gerber multi-tool (worn on pants belt)

- 4 - Kit Bag (follow-on kit for extended deployment)
 - cbt shirts
 - cbt pants
 - T-shirts, green (2 prs)
 - socks (3 prs, min)
 - underwear (3 prs, min)
 - towel, hand
- towel, bath
- extra soap
 - pt gear ( 2prs)
 - running shoes
 - polar fleece
 - cbt boots
 - cbt overboots (rubber, as req’d)
 - boot brush, polish
- civilian clothing

Winter

 - duffle socks, mesh, felt insoles
 - socks system (4 pairs ea)

 - thermal underwear, complete (xtra pair)
 - polar fleece (shirt)
 - polar fleece (pants)
 - arctic mitts
 - cbt pants (1)
 - spare boot laces (1 set, inner pouch)
 - sewing kit (inner pouch)

In the top compartment:
 - parka whites, top & bottom
 - sash cord & snap link
 - toque, white
- rucksack cam, white, attached to frame

in the side pouches:
 - 24 hours rations - one IMP per pouch
- thermos (carried/in ruck/in tobbogan)

special equipment:
 - compass (Sect/Pl comd)
 - binoculars (Sect/Pl comd, as req’d)
 - FMP & pencil (comd positions)
 - maps (comd positions)

 - wind pants (gore tex)
 - parka w/hood or cbt jacket  (per  weather conditions)
 - scarf
 - cbt gloves (or trigger mitts)
 - thermal underwear
 - socks, Goretex
 - mukluks complete (per deployment requirements)
 - Gerber multi-tool (worn on pants belt)
 - watch
 - ID disks
 - ID card, Medicare card, 404’s (carried on person)
- lip balm

 - ear plugs (left breast pocket)

  • - 4 - Kit Bag (follow-on kit for extended deployment)
  •  - **Same as summer, except:

 - melmac plate & cup
 - polar fleece (shirt and pants)
 - cbt jacket or parka (if not worn)
- NBCW masc/equip if not specified elsewhere

  • ® Make sure that all kit is identified with name and last three SN.
  • ® Lanyards worn only in the field.
  • ® All kit must be Canadian issue.
